About Heliax

Heliax is a remote-first public goods lab which researches, develops, deploys, and maintains open-source protocols and mechanisms designed to serve the everyday needs of humanity. Using this, we build vertically integrated open-source products and networks that form coherent open systems which are capable of acting as an alternative to existing exploitative paradigms.

Heliax’s work includes Anoma, a novel architecture that is intent-centric for decentralized counterparty discovery, solving, information flow control, and multi-chain atomic settlement; Namada, a proof-of-stake L1 for interchain asset-agnostic privacy, designed to bring the best privacy to the multichain and with the vision of building a portal between public and private worlds.

Role overview

The Heliax design philosophy is to blend ambitious aesthetics with user functionality. Creating experiences that push boundaries and set the precedence of design in web3. Next level tech needs next level design experiences to push us to the forefront of the industry.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Mid-weight Designer to join the team. Working closely with the Head of Design and Marketing leads, you’ll be joining a small but agile team known for creating design and UX that is becoming industry references. The ideal candidate should be full of creative energy, passionate, multi-skilled and with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the team. Designing from concept through to final artwork across, Brand, web, print, social campaigns, presentations with a strong emphasis on ideas behind execution as well as a high end visual output.

What you’ll do

• Contribute in helping the Head of Design and Marketing teams grow and evolve our existing core brands aesthetics.
• Conceptualize and design assets for social media / blog posts using our current brand guidelines and marketing rhetorics
• Help take our presentations designs to the next level improving layouts and re-drawings diagrams
• Help conceptualize new brands for our events and future products
• Design for print. (Merch, flyers, Banners) and be able to provide printable Artwork files
• Contribute to our digital experiences, marketing websites, product interface UX/UI
• Learn and understand the technology behind our protocols to help ideas generation for design.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to design
• Have a place to foster and grow your design experience

Your Background

• You have 3+ years of experience whether that be agency or in house. (please submit your portfolio, links of projects that are currently live, pet projects) We are looking for a varied portfolio of work with strong creative ideas
• You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge in a field applicable to the role and its projects.
• Have an understanding of concept lead design and the need to communicate an idea through design.
• During your professional experience, you have worked closely with marketers and developers and have some knowledge and understanding of the front-end development process
• Be proficient in the adobe creative suite (illustrator, photoshop, indesign)
• Good knowledge of web design tools such as Figma or XD
• Proactive at communicating, both verbally and in written form, and coordinating with the team.
• Self-organized and autonomous, with a willingness to work collaboratively and independently in a flexible and remote work environment.
• Verbal and written fluency in English in order to communicate in the organization or make presentations internally.

Bonus Qualifications

• Designed experience in the web3 space
• Have used applications or products of the blockchain industry before.
• Passionate about emerging technologies and excited about their possible impacts in the world
• Motion graphics experience using After effects / Cinema 4D or similar
• Video editing experience
• Photography experience
• Fluency in other languages

Misc

Remote, but you can join the team at our current offices in London, or Berlin.When remote, preferred if mostly located within (+/- 3 hours) Central European time zones.

Ideally someone who enjoys travel, nature and hiking. Often we find that protocols are best designed not in a meeting room but rather on a trail 🏔️.
