Principal Mobile Engineer

Your role will involve:

• Serve as a technical beacon for the mobile engineering practice, driving the adoption of new technologies and methodologies that align with our strategic goals. You'll be the go-to expert for React Native, full-stack JavaScript, and beyond.
• Work closely with the senior leadership team to align development processes with company strategy, ensuring projects are delivered with excellence.
• Uphold and advance our documentation, processes, quality levels, and standards. Conduct rigorous code reviews and champion test-driven development to maintain high-quality software delivery.
• Lead by example, mentoring and coaching team members across levels. Your role involves not just elevating the technical skills of our team but also fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Tackle our most challenging projects with imaginative and efficient solutions. Your expertise will guide the team through high-pressure work, setting a benchmark for excellence.

With a passion for mobile development, particularly React Native, you're not just ready to tackle challenges head-on but are also adept at guiding others through the complexities of modern mobile applications. Your technical skills are matched by your ability to inspire and lead, ensuring that our engineering practices propel Parallax forward.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Expertise in Mobile Development with a strong proficiency in React Native and mobile app deployment practices.
• Experience with Zustand, integrating webhooks, as well as subscriptions and bespoke payment providers.
• Familiarity with integrating native solutions including Apple Health, Google Fit and similar informatics.
• A good grasp of building and working with CI/CD pipelines is essential.
• A solid understanding of full-stack JavaScript development, including CSS frameworks like Tailwind and backend technologies (Node.js, Nextjs or similar).
• Deep knowledge of API integration and database design.
• A strong emphasis on architecting scalable end-to-end solutions and adeptly identifying potential issues and pitfalls from the outset.
• A clear passion for working with stakeholders and product owners to iteratively deliver lean and viable features.
• Leadership qualities that inspire and motivate a team to deliver collaboratively.
• A track record of delivering impactful projects with a keen commercial understanding.
• Ability to balance perfection with the practicality of simplicity.
• Experience with AI integration, particularly LLMs like GPT-4, and IoT device integration would be useful but not necessary.
