Os Mundos da Popota (Popota New Worlds)
The 2011 Christmas campaign was the first time that Portugal’s number one retailer, Continente used Popota, a pink lady hipo that was well known mascot previously associated to a different brand to sell toys. For the first time Popota would not have her own site. Instead, this diva had to live in Continente’s corporate site. The challenge was how to create a new and fun experience for this playful caracter inside a corporate site. We created a single page site with a Parallax effect simulation. Visitors could travel between 5 different worlds and play 10 fantastic games. Besides these games the site offered other goodies: wallpapers, screensavers, coloring drawings, Popota’s photos and mobile apps with even more games. Popota also ofered content to be shared: a animated customizable Christmas card. Even associated to a new brand, it was the most sucessful site Popota ever had. 12.000 created postcards, shared 24.000 times, viewed 50. 000 times. 132.000 visitors, 170.000 accesses to photos, wallpapers, drawings and screensavers. 250.000 games played and more than 1 million views. Popota was not only an animated celebrity, she also became a digital one.
